Tarot Card Meanings: All 78 Cards
Tarot uses 78 picture cards to reflect your feelings and your situation back to you. Knowing what each card means makes any reading feel much closer to home.
How to read tarot cards
A tarot deck has 22 Major Arcana cards, which show the big themes of life, and 56 Minor Arcana cards, which show everyday events. The Minor Arcana are split into four suits: Wands for passion and action, Cups for feelings and relationships, Swords for thoughts and conflict, and Pentacles for money and practical life.
A card that lands upside down is read as reversed. Reversed does not simply mean bad: it suggests the card's energy is blocked, overdone or still growing inside you. At Goblin Saju, seven cards are laid out as the situation, your inner wishes, the key factor, your resources, the conditions of your choice, the direction of change and advice for action.
